A typical indication of good food is usually a crowded restaurant. On a hot Miami night we came across Versailles and the place was absolutely packed!
The menu is not for the indecisive as you could spend hours perusing before making a selection. The service was fast and friendly.
Firstly I ordered up a Cuban mojito with enough mint that I could jumpstart a garden. I loved that it was garnished with sugarcane.
The food!
For an appetizer, I settled on the croquettes – ham, chicken and cod fish – though I should have passed on them.
The grilled pork flat steak served with white rice (I substituted for yellow rice), black beans and plantains were muy delicioso.
The Good:
- Quick, friendly service
- Inexpensive
- Large menu
- Good portion sizes
The Bad:
- Croquettes
The Ugly:
- Due to its popularity the restaurant is rather noisy
